Abreast goes to the North Pole with Alan Chambers MBE

Alan Chambers MBE the polar explorer and the man who led the first unsupported trek from Canada to the geographic North Pole, gave a truly awe inspiring talk in support of Abreast, at the BRI on Thursday February 10th.

He held the specially invited audience, spellbound with the tale of how he and his team had to overcome staggering challenges to reach their almost impossible goal. In temperatures frequently lower than -50 degrees, through blizzards and half starvation, they managed walk unsupported across nearly 700 miles of the worst terrain on the planet.

Alan is returning to the North Pole again on March 31st 2011. See the News tab to find out if he makes it.

Here are just a few images of his previous expedition.
